Japanese Curry Pie Recipe

This Japanese – English fusion dish makes for a great pie. It’s an English style pie made with a Japanese curry filling. Here’s my Japanese curry pie recipe:

Recipe Ingredients

  • Savoury short crust pastry
  • 1 potato
  • 1 carrot
  • 1 onion
  • Some cauliflower
  • Mince meat
  • Japanese curry (I like to use a mild Japanese curry block about the size of 1.5 OXO cubes)

Recipe Directions

  1. Chop and boil the vegetables
  2. Cook the onion (chopped) with the mince meat
  3. Add some of the vegetable water to the half cooked mince
  4. Add the Japanese curry and peas
  5. Mix the vegetables and mince / onions and cook together for another 10 minutes or so
  6. Add the pastry to the pie maker
  7. Add the filling then the pastry top
  8. Cook the pies for 10 minutes or so until done

Makes 4 pies.

Optional: Add some sliced red apple to cook with the mince for a slightly sweeter curry.
